Ground Breaking

Walton Construction had the ground breaking ceremony today for the new Third Recruit Training Battalion Complex on Parris Island. Avery and I did not go, but Bill took pictures of the ceremony.

Hide and Seek

Today Avery decided she wanted to play a game of hide and seek...with out even asking if I wanted to play! I watched her go into our bedroom and then I didn't see her come out after a minute or so. I started calling her name and she will usually make some sort of noise when I do this...not today. I looked in the bathroom (even though the door was latched and I knew she couldn't get in there), closet, under the bed...well I guess I didn't look in the closet good enough...there she was sitting behind the door with a huge smile on her face!!! Scared the crap out of me, but she was safe and having fun hiding from momma.

Take life by the fork!

Avery has started using a fork while she eats. She is doing a really good job using the fork. For now she is just scooping food with it and getting it into her mouth. I am so happy for her. Dinner is a bit messy, but it is a great mile stone. She was uisng her hands to feed herself and she still does from time to time. We have also started eating more than just soft foods again(that's all she would eat while her teeth were coming in).

Nothing like a good nap

We haven't been doing a whole lot the last couple of days. Just hanging out at home playing. Avery loves to play with her house, she loves to go through the door and ring the door bell. She has also enjoyed wearing her stacking rings as bracelets...to cute! Avery's teeth are coming along really well. She seems to be past the "hurting real bad and cranky" stage, which is a really good thing. She woke up early today so she took a morning nap and had a little company, it was really cute.

Family Time

Wow, what a great weekend we had. We didn't do much in the way of getting out of the house, but we did get some great quality time together. Daddy would build towers with the blocks and Avery had a blast knocking them down. Avery "talked" a lot on her phone this weekend, she had lots of friends to call, I know she misses her family and her friend Zdena Grace! She was giving a picture of Zdena Grace kisses this weekend. We were able to watch a movie this weekend, Baby Mama., that is a funny movie! We got the portable DVD player out for Avery so she could watch her own movie and now she is HOT Stuff now! It was just great to be together again.

Teeth Teeth Teeth!!!

Avery has had three teeth for the last 15 months, well as of the last week so many of her teeth have started coming in! Wednesday I felt her left two year molar coming in and on Friday her top front right tooth broke through and I just now put some orajel on her teeth and her right two year molar has broke through. I have been told that it will be better to get all of her teeth at once and go through one big pain, but I feel so bad for our baby girl! One morning we are going to wake up and she is going to go from having three teeth to a mouth full of teeth. You can also see her top left front tooth, and both of her "vampire" teeth and the tooth to the right of her bottom front teeth so that is a total of SEVEN teeth coming in at once....OUCH!!! Avery enjoys eating popsicles to help numb her teeth.

Parris Island

Today Bill took Avery and I to the Marine Recruit Depot on Parris Island to see where he is working. It was really interesting to see where the new recruits train. We only seen a few groups of them. Bill says that they train seven days a week, no weekend off for them!
